I WILL figure out pictures!

Okay, so I just reviewed how to post pictures, got out my camera, and realized this is a new computer and I don't know how to download pics because its not the same as my old one. (I know, I know...) Jared set this one up, and the thing I used to put the picture card thing in is not attached, and I don't know where it is. (Couldn't tell you WHAT it is, only what it looks like) Sooo, when Jared gets back, THIS WEEKEND, I'll have him help me out so I can put up a million pics!

The Damiano in Minnesota

I am still trying to convince myself that I live in Minnesota. I had the same bizarre experience in Illinois. You are walking around Target, and everyone has a funny accent. Then I silently repeat to myself, "You are in Minnesota". Then my mind reels with mental images of maps, trying to figure out exactly WHERE that is. Ah, yes, that cold place in near Canada. "Why would anybody live THERE?!" Ah, must be the Mall of America. Which, according to my children, is the best thing about Minnesota. Funny thing is, I've been there probably 6 times now, and have never actually gone SHOPPING. (Rides, food, and movies only) Maybe someday, but as I have observed NEVER on a weekend, and probably not anytime from Nov. 15 thru Jan. 1.

Alas, we are here. So far, so good. We love the house, but it is strange to get used to being in a small town. Waconia has about 14,000 residents, and we are 20 minutes from the nearest Target. The people here are VERY friendly which is a strange thing to get used to. Even stranger, is they don't have a coronary when you tell them you have 4 kids. There are actually several families for whom that is normal. So, its nice to not be the biggest freak in town (for now).

The kids are enjoying school. Jack is in MIDDLE SCHOOL (at only 5th grade) which was giving me a heart attack, but he is loving it. He is playing the french horn in band, and loves that he gets to have swimming in gym.

Spencer and Ethan's school is considerably smaller than Woodland (what isn't?!) and they are adjusting very well. There is a nice sense of community and accessability which is nice.
Olivia is loving preschool as well.

We have been having gorgeous fall days which I am trying to relish. I am strictly forbidding indoor play when the temperature is tolerable, as I know it will not last. We have a really beautiful, huge, pond that our house backs up to. There are literally hundreds of geese there now, which can be noisy! (They are fun to watch though) Whenever I start getting sick of them, I remind myself that as long as they are HERE, the weather is still decent, so I musn't be too anxious for their departure! There is a path around the pond, and a city park on the other side, so it has been handy for a lazy mom! Also easy to meet friends!

Well, I better tend to housekeeping chores before my morning is gone. Now I'm going to figure out how to post pics, hopefully.
